After reading such terrible reviews on Yelp and then good reviews on TripAdvisor, we weren't sure if we should try this place or not. It just so happened to be that our first choice (On the Waterfront) decided to close their doors for a private lunch party and not be open to the public. We decided it was time to try Harbor Crab Co. When we pulled in we were astonished by how many cars were in the parking lot. Obviously this place draws a crowd so why the terrible reviews? When we walked in we were promptly greeted. We wanted to sit outside but since those tables are high tops, we could not put a high chair there for our toddler. Instead, we opted for lunch on the boat-- a two level steamboat converted into two dining rooms with water views all around. It was perfect.

There was plenty of waitstaff around, all of whom were very friendly. You tend to talk to a lot of staff when you have a very outgoing toddler that just wants to interact with everyone! We ordered the Crab, Spinach and Artichoke Dip for an appetizer. When it came out, I was not expecting it to be so huge. It looked delicious and tasted just as good. I preferred to eat the dip with the bread from the bread bowl rather than the crackers but it was good both ways. Mike ordered a lobster roll for lunch and I ordered the Mahi Mahi burger. Not really a burger, rather it was just a grilled fish sandwich. The waiter asked if I'd like tarter sauce with it, so I said yes. Our food came out very quickly, only minutes after our appetizer and there was no tarter sauce so I had to ask for it in the long run. Our table was completely covered in plates because the food came out so quick, something I didn't mind too much although it was annoying to maneuver with a toddler at the table trying to reach for everything.

Mike enjoyed his lobster roll and I really liked the Mahi. I was expecting an overcooked, dry piece of fish and it was succulent and juicy. A bit small for the roll it was on but it was plenty of food between the accompanying fries and the appetizer. The tarter sauce made it even more enjoyable.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. As we were leaving, we took a better look at the place to see that it is really expansive. Funny thing is the bathrooms are so tight and small but the dining rooms are huge. Just giving a heads up!

We will definitely be back to Harbor Crab Co. They have specials almost every night, live music Fridays and Saturdays and brunch on Sundays. I feel that the lunch prices are spot on point but after taking a look at the dinner menu, I can see why some people might say its a bit overpriced. I say it's totally a place worth checking out! I can't wait to go back.
