We've been meaning to check out Seasons 52 ever since it opened and we finally visited this weekend! We arrived early for our reservation and were happy to see they offer complimentary valet because there was no way we would have found a spot close by.  As we walked in, we noticed the beautiful modern rock waterfall that sets the tone for the rest of the restaurant. It feels upscale, without being pretentious.

Even though we were a little early, we were able to be seated right away by the pleasant hostess. Soon after, our waitress came over and since it was our first time dining there, she explained that they have a seasonal menu, and the specials change each week, hence the name Seasons 52.

We placed our drink order which included a Strawberry-Coconut Skinny Martini which is made with strawberry-infused prairie organic vodka, pineapple-coconut water and organic agave nectar. In no time at all, the drinks arrived. It was the quickest bar service we had ever seen! The martini had some toasted coconut in the bottom of the glass, which floated when the drink was poured. It tasted good but chewing on coconut was pretty annoying.

We decided to try the Lump Crab, Roasted Shrimp and Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms with a Parmesan Panko Crust. They are served in a small aebleskiver plate, with a roasted shrimp on top of each of the 6 mushrooms. They have a little crunch on top because of the panko-parmesan breading and are really the perfect little bites.

For our entrees we chose the Cedar-Plank Roasted Salmon, Grilled Boneless Rainbow Trout, both served with roasted vegetables, crushed potatoes, a dill-mustard sauce and grilled lemon. For the kids we got pasta with butter, which at first the waitress wasn't sure if they even had butter in the restaurant. No wonder the entrees are all under 475 calories! Turns out they did have butter, and served it on the side as well as a little side of parmesan to go with the cavatappi pasta. The salmon was served on the cedar-plank it was cooked on, and had a slight woodsy flavor. The dill-mustard sauce was perfect for it and the salmon was still very moist and not overcooked at all.

The rainbow trout was butterflied and served with the tail, a very nice presentation. The roasted vegetables were cooked well and tasted very fresh, but we could've done without the smashed potatoes. They were a bit dry but using the dill-mustard sauce helped with that.

We were interested in getting dessert and were told about their Mini Indulgences, to which an entire selection of them were brought to the table. Our waitress named each one and told us whichever we wanted would come from what was in front of us. When we first saw them all we thought it was a fake dessert selection but we were obviously wrong! All 9 sounded good, but we didn't care to try the blueberries with lemon curd so we skipped on that one. The rest included Key Lime Meringue Pie, Carrot Cake with Cinnamon Honey, Belgian Chocolate S'more, Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte, Mocha Macchiato, Pecan Pie, Creme Brulee with a Bing Cherry Bottom, and Raspberry Chocolate Chip Cannoli.

They were all so delicious but our favorites were the Key Lime Meringue Pie, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte, Belgian Chocolate S'more and the Carrot Cake with Cinnamon Honey. We couldn't possibly finish all of them but it was a good chance to sample them all and find our favorites!

From start to finish, the service was great. When we were first seated, the hostess did not just place the menus on the table but rather waited until we got both kids set and were fully seated before handing us the menus. We also had a very attentive waitress who was quick to pick up any garbage she saw on the table, even the smallest straw wrapper or squeezed lemon. Waters were always filled, and she even refilled my martini with the shaker that she left on the table--something I could've done myself but she did it for me. As I walked out of the dining room with our daughter in hand, she rightfully assumed we were headed to the restroom and told me it was straight ahead, without me asking. It is that kind of service that we love seeing, and the kind that brings people back to restaurants.

We definitely will return to Seasons 52 to try out some of their other seasonal selections!
